Simple. Because we both give a shit about independent hospitality. There’s a deep-rooted connection between specialty coffee and the southern hemisphere. Many of the world’s best café operators, roasters, and baristas trace their roots back to New Zealand and Australia. And there’s a special kind of hustle that comes with exporting that spirit abroad.

Allpress Espresso has been setting the standard in the UK café scene for over 15 years - after first firing up the roaster in Auckland more than 30 years ago. From their own espresso bars to their work with independent venues worldwide, they’re known for quality, consistency, and accessible expertise.

Bustle has been part of the same hospitality journey - born in a Kiwi café and built by operators who were tired of clunky tools that didn’t fit their workflow. We’ve grown up alongside our customers in Aotearoa and across the Tasman, and now we’re bringing that same focus and energy to the UK.

When former Bustle users at Allpress heard we'd touched down in London, the connection was instant. We sat down, shared stories and pain points, (and a few long blacks...maybe a few pints), then got to work building something better - together. One person who was instrumental in getting this up and running was Napaar Cameron, Cafe Operations Manager:

Obviously it was natural to partner with a fellow NZ-founded company with roots in the hospitality industry. The fact Bustle is positioned for specialty coffee businesses made it an easy choice, everyone in Bustle speaks our language and makes a genuine effort to help with anything we need.

Real-Life Results: Allpress x Bustle

Let’s take a look at Allpress UK. Napaar and her crew run four beautiful venues, and they’re absolute Bustle pros.

A typical Allpress order might look like this:

  • 1 x Mixed plate - soft egg instead of boiled
  • 1 x FW - oat milk, extra hot, 1 sugar
  • 1 x banana bread, toasted

On their old system, this took 28 clicks. On Bustle? Just 16. That’s a much smoother flow for staff and customers, and less time lost at the counter.

The Allpress team - managers like Giada, Simone, and Georgina - have also built out detailed menus including cost of goods. From the banana bread to the exact millilitres of olive oil used on avo toast, they now have live visibility of margins and performance, all feeding into smart, human-friendly reports.
